The coach who gets
real about your money.

Taylor built her practice, Journey Through Finance on one belief: that most people aren't bad with money — they've just never had an honest, judgment-free conversation about it.

Until now.

— MEET YOUR COACH

Taylor's story - in her own words.

Money was more than numbers in my household. It was a lesson, a tool, and a responsibility. Before I even started school, my mom had already taught me how to balance a checkbook and recite my 2-times tables. Math quickly became my favorite subject, and numbers became my comfort zone. I started saving money in the 6th grade — all thanks to my parents' early lessons about preparing for a rainy day.

My dad challenged me to think about the value behind every dollar. He showed me that money isn't just about what you buy — it's about quality and what it costs to maintain. A car isn't just a car; it's gas, insurance, maintenance, and long-term planning. Those lessons shaped how I saw the world.

I realized that financial freedom isn't reserved for a select few — it's something we can all access when we're given the right tools and the right mindset.

That upbringing naturally led me to study Accounting at Tennessee State University, where I earned my degree in Business Administration and Accounting. From there, I dove into corporate America — working for several Fortune 500 companies in roles from AP Specialist to Senior Accountant.

Even with a stable career and a promising path, I knew I was meant to do more. Everything clicked when I read The Black Girl's Guide to Financial Freedom by Paris Woods. For the first time, I saw my passion clearly: helping others transform the way they view and use money — just like I was taught to do.

That's how Journey Through Finance was born. A financial education and coaching firm built on the work I was born to do: transforming the Black community by redefining the role of money. One lesson, one breakthrough, and one life at a time.

— COACHING PHILOSOPHY

How Taylor shows up - in every session

These aren't just values on a wall. They're the principles Taylor brings to every single client interaction.

01

Radical Honesty, Zero Judgement

Taylor will tell you the truth about your numbers — gently, clearly, and without shame. There's no room for sugarcoating when it comes to your financial health, but there's also no place for judgment. You're here to learn, not to be lectured.

02

Clarity Before Action

Most financial advice skips straight to what to do. Taylor's approach always starts with where you actually are. Because the right next step is only right if it's based on your real situation — not a template.

03

One Step, Not Ten

Overwhelm is the enemy of progress. Taylor doesn't hand you a 10-step plan and wish you luck. She helps you find the one thing that will make the most difference right now — and helps you actually do it.

04

Build at Your Pace

Some clients want one conversation and a clear direction. Others want ongoing support as they build new habits. There's no right answer — we go at the speed that's right for your life.

— WHO I WORK WITH

You might be exactly who I had in mind.

The Black women I serve don't share the same income, background, or goals — but they tend to have a few things in common.

They're smart, hardworking women who've never had someone sit down with them and help them make real sense of their money.

✦  You're earning decent money but feel like you have nothing to show for it

✦  You've tried budgeting before — it never quite sticks

✦  You avoid looking at your accounts because you don't want to deal with what you'll see

✦  You're not in crisis, but you're not building anything either — and that bothers you

✦  You want real guidance, not generic advice you could Google yourself
